Manly Warringah Athletics welcomes Open and Masters athletes as part of our broader One Athletics club structure. This pathway supports athletes who are competing, training, returning to the sport, or looking to stay connected to athletics in a club environment.
How this pathway works
The Opens and Masters pathway is different from the club’s weekly Little Athletics and Junior Athletics program. Competition for Open and Masters athletes generally takes place through NSW Athletics events across summer and winter, rather than through the weekly club competition model offered to younger cohorts.
These opportunities may include track and field meets, cross country, road races, walks, specialist meets, and State and National Championship events.
Who this is for
This pathway is suitable for:
-
Athletes continuing on from junior athletics.
-
Athletes returning to the sport after time away.
-
Senior athletes looking to compete in NSW Athletics events.
-
Masters athletes wanting to remain active and involved in athletics.
Athletes may engage with the club in different ways depending on their goals, event group and stage of involvement.
Competition and connection
Open and Masters athletes are part of the broader Manly Warringah Athletics community, even though their competition model differs from the weekly Little Athletics and Junior Athletics structure. As the club continues to strengthen its One Athletics model, this pathway will continue to develop over time.
